  38. This document describes some new commands for the picture environment of
  39. L<SUP><SMALL>A</SMALL></SUP>T<SMALL>E</SMALL>X. Some of the picture drawing commands of
  40. L<SUP><SMALL>A</SMALL></SUP>T<SMALL>E</SMALL>X are very low-level. New higher-level commands are implemented and
  41. described here. These commands enhance the graphic capabilities of
  42. L<SUP><SMALL>A</SMALL></SUP>T<SMALL>E</SMALL>X and provide a friendlier and more powerful user
  43. interface than currently existent. Their implementation has been done
  44. with the aim of reducing the amount of
  45. manual calculations required to specify the layout of <#32#><I>objects</I><#32#>.
  46. With the addition of the commands described in this document, it should be
  47. possible to draw
  48. more sophisticated pictures with lesser effort than was previously possible.
